Supporting Grassroots and Rugby development Pathways.

Helping grassroot players develop skills, gain specialised training with access to pathways through a specialised Rugby Academy in the West.

Following a successful partnership between Valour Sport and the Two Blues Junior Rugby Union representative team, the Academy, proudly sponsored by Valour Sport provides aspiring rugby players from u12-u18 with increased opportunities.

The Two Blues Academy helps to foster and develop strong junior rugby union players. Bringing together aspiring grassroot rugby players from Blacktown Scorpions, Dundas Valley, Hawkesbury Valley, Hills, Norwest Bulls and Liverpool City Cougars clubs. Each player interested in joining the Academy sends in an Expression of Interest. Every applicant to the Academy will receive a Valour Sport Two Blues Training Shirt, generating a sense of pride, inclusion and mateship.

The Academy runs a number of sessions, providing these players with an opportunity to train over a number of evenings with all the Two Blues coaches, showcasing their skills and giving them the potential to be identified as a player for the Two Blues Junior Rugby Team. The Academy helps give many of the younger players an introduction to the representative environment and a longer chance to show the coaches what they can offer the team. As there is no cost to the participants, the Academy helps children find direction while teaching values. It builds catchments and creates pathways.

Not only has the Two Blues Academy helped provide a pathway for players, the Academy along with the new Stadium has helped Western Sydney gain credence within the Rugby World. This has led to the Two Blues getting a Rugby Club Foundation Grant as well as interest from the Waratah’s head of talent to collaborate together and potentially look at creating a Waratah GenBlue Academy within the Western Sydney Area. Tim Shand, President of the Two Blues Juniors, says that these developments “are exciting and helps the district to stay strong and to maintain opportunities for future generations. With a long-term potential of eventually having a facility built at Granville to help aspiring players in the West”

Matthew Knight from Valour Sport believes “The Partnership with Two Blues Junior Rugby Club is a significant one and has been forged over many years of hard work and dedication by both organisations. To be provided with an opportunity to work with their junior academy was a perfect way to showcase our apparel expertise to kids who just love what they do. To see such a diverse group of talented individuals, wear and appreciate a Valour garment is ultimately very rewarding. I would like to thank their President, Mr. Tim Shand for this opportunity and we look forward to seeing more amazing results from both the Academy and Club for many more years to come.”

Valour is always looking at ways to support and develop grassroots sports, promoting young athletes and driving growth within the industry.
